Longwood Board of Education Holds Annual Reorganization Meeting

Frank Muraca administered oath of office.At Longwood School District’s annual reorganization meeting held on Thursday, July 6, the Board of Education elected Frank Muraca as president and Paul Infranco as vice president.  Mr. Muraca replaces Daniel Tomaszewski who has served in a board leadership position for 11 years.

“Dan has spent most of his adult life advocating for public education,” said Mr. Muraca.  “Under his guidance and leadership, this board has developed a strong foundation on which we will continue to build.  It has been an honor and pleasure to work beside him.”

The Board also approved the remainder of the reorganizational meeting’s agenda which included the appointment of the superintendent, district clerk, treasurer, claims auditor, as well as appointing professional service providers.  

Board of Education meetings will be held at Longwood High School at 7:00 pm on August 24; September 14, 19; October 5, 26; November 2, 16; December 7, 21; January 11, 25; February 8; March 8, 22; April 19; May 3, 17, 31, and June 7, 21.  School Community Forums will be held on Tuesday, October 26 and Tuesday, March 22, and the Annual Election and Budget Vote will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
