Ridge Math Zone

We are in the midst of a changing time for Mathematics Education right now. New York State, along with 44 other states and 3 territories, have adopted the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. All schools in New York are transitioning students from the 2005 New York State Learning Standards in Mathematics to the Common Core State Standards. The Common Core Standards are built on six shifts, including focusing the curriculum on lesson topics and delving into each of these topics more deeply. 2013 was the first year that the New York State Mathematics Test assessed  Common Core Standards. Ridge teachers and administrators have worked hard to align our teaching to the Common Core Standards and to prepare students for the transition in learning and assessment. As a district, we have selected the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt program called Go Math.  For more information on the Common Core State Standards or Go Math or to find ways to help your student succeed in math, please explore the links below.
